Cameron Born
in 1968 in Glasgow, Scotland. I went to Glasgow College of Building
& Printing (GCBP) in 1986 At the same time I did a variety of night classes at Glasgow School of Art in Drawing & Painting, Technical Illustration, Life Drawing, Sculpture, & Graphics. Went through a number of jobs that had nothing whatsoever to do with drawing before getting heavily into Martial Arts (about 24 hours a week training) and weightlifting (though it took me 2 years to put on 2 stone). Diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) in 1994 which initially saw me lose the 2 stone I'd managed to build up, and effected my vision in my right eye and a gave me a bit of a limp in my left leg. In 1997 I went back to GCBP and did an NC in Modelmaking, ie. architectural models etc. I'm got married in 2000 to Louise and since 2003 been living in Ayrshire where, apart from trying to keep a house from falling apart around us I have mostly been spending my time sitting at a drawing board, drawing the kind of things you'll find on this web site. Apart from the occassional minor relapse my MS didn't effect me that much till 2005 when it left me having to use a stick to walk and effecting my eyesight a bit more. I had to give up my job at the end of September '07. At the start of December '07 I had another relapse which left me with very stiff knees, slightly off balance and occassional pains in my right forearm and hand. Left me having to deal with the fact that 70 year olds are now speeding past me in the street, so no more drawing in situ then eh? If you've managed to read this far down I might as well tell you that my favourite band these days is the Foo Fighters, and my favourite film directors are Akira Kurosawa, Sergio Leone, & the Coen brothers. I've now managed to update my computer from the 6 year old dinosaur of a machine in the picture on the left. If you're really that interested in what another human being does with their days, that's what the Diary Comic sections for, innit! Hope you enjoy the site!
