I used to see painted or engraved animals on stones or slate all over
the place years ago, and a while ago I saw a book on the subject which
made me decide to have a go myself. My first attempt was a bit rough
(some folk might say they're all a bit rough), but it's more a case of getting
used to the 3D surface, and learning to use paint again.

Below are a few of my first attempts so far to have a go.
The idea is to do some small ones for shelves, and a couple for gardens once
they've been properly varnished up. Apologies for the poor quality of the piccies,
my digital camera seems to struggle to focus when I use the zoom.

More recent attempt at a cat (26/04/08).

Cat (first try at this stuff)

Bugs

Panda

Truth be told I'm using this as an excuse to learn to use a brush
properly again before I get back into doing paintings again.
