The general idea's were laid down years ago, but just when I was going to
work up some
strips, 'The Matrix' came out and I didn't want to appear like I'd written
it off the back of seeing
that movie. A couple of years later I saw 'The 13th Floor' and thought VRAI
was different enough
from them all to go back to it. The idea of a near infinite universe of meta-system
& the worlds within,
many of which part of an ongoing race between military & corporate blocks
for dominance.
The construction software
ideas allowed for infinite variety of inbuilt physical laws within sub-systems
and translation software between them. Also the idea that some of these systems
are unconnected to the main
network either through intent or software degradation. I'm forever adding
to the ideas behind the inner workings
of the system, and the real world beyond it.
