 An example of the way each page was worked up
from the original line drawing to the finished page.

1. The original line drawing is scanned in at 800dpi Bitmap and the borders to the panels are drawn in using the pen tool in Photoshop to give it a more solid look. Before I start I convert the image to RGB. At this point it's still A4 in size.

2. First off I colour in some of the characters as their colours are mostly consistent and I can lift them from another page. I also drop in general colours for the bigger areas and clean up any mistakes in the drawing I notice (panel 3, the far left character should've had a bare arm.

3. I then colour up the rest of it adding tone or texture where it's needed on the likes of the wooden beams & the wall (hard to see at this size.)

 4. Lastly I add the eyes in Photoshop, and do the text in Illustrator and copy it over (the only thing with this is you have to use the paintpot tool to make the text black as it seems to copy as a dark grey for some reason). Then I take down the image size, then the resolution, and save it as a GIF.
